Frequently Asked Questions:

  • When will Subzly be launching?
We’re hoping for a full public beta launch by the first quarter of 2027, but part of staying self funded rather than VC backed means we don’t have to rush things just to satisfy people who’s interests aren’t fully aligned with the project. We want to ensure the foundation is solid both in terms of the platform and its users. We’ll be as transparent as possible every step of the way so follow us for regular updates.
  • Is Subzly a streaming platform?
Current streaming models rely on a math that simply doesn't add up for the artist. To keep those platforms profitable, they prioritize algorithms that drive engagement at the expense of the artist. We aren't interested in enabling that race to the bottom. We’d love to introduce streaming but only once we’re sure the economics are right ‘for the creator’, until then we’ll be the best music discovery / social funding music platform we can be. If you want to be a part of our growth feel free to support us via any of the demo profiles or our main Subzly profile or follow us for updates on all our features and future plans.
  • When / where can we view a full features list?
Everything you see on Subzly works right now, from our social feed features to project, track, demo funding etc but follow us for updates, we’ll be posting more in-depth details on all our features soon plus ways to vote, comment or even suggest new ones.
  • Can I support an artist without a profile?
Absolutely. Although Stripe, our payment processor legally requires your email at the very least to process your payment, you don’t need a Subzly account for that to work. You can currently support us as a platform for what we’ve already created and are building by using any of the tip buttons on the main Subzly profile or any of the demo artists. If you want your support to go towards a specific ‘project’ just hit ‘fund this’ on any of the projects you find on any of the profiles. Our demo artists will be removed as soon as we launch with human ones in the next few months but until then all tips or funds go straight to the platform / our developers.
  • What are your policies on AI music / artists?
This one's a no-brainer. Art 'is' the process. Subzly will simply never support AI music, full stop. We'll be posting more on this soon but with a strict artist verification process on signup and a human verification score on each profile, you won’t need to skip hundreds of AI generated songs that rob the artist of their income. We’ll also launch with tools that help make it easier for artists to verify themselves as the rightful owner of their intellectual property should that ever come into question. Subzly will always be a place where human art & authenticity is truly valued. Follow us for more details on these features and policies.
  • Is Subzly free to use?
Yes. We take a simple, never changing 15% platform fee to keep things running, the artist keeps 85% of everything. The artist retains full rights to everything they upload. We’ll also be introducing ways to earn secondary incomes on music sold. Follow us for regular updates and progress reports. If you have any questions email us at [email protected]
  • What makes Subzly different from other platforms?
Other platforms are built on structures that prioritize their shareholders, meaning people who have little to no interest in the artist or their art can make decisions that affect everything, right down to the artists overall earning potential - Artists finally deserve a legacy platform they can trust to be around for decades to come, somewhere safe to release their music and connect with fans, a place built by artists who aren’t greedy, who want to see artists thrive in a way they haven’t been able to for decades now. Subzly will remain self / crowd funded for that reason, even if that means a slower growth. We'll also differ from other platforms by the tools we’ll offer - we’re working on something no one else is doing, something that’ll help put the power back into the hands of the artist again. Follow us for updates. You can also support us and bring us to life but using any of the tip / fund buttons on any of the current profiles.
  • When will you be announcing the winner of the Direct To artist Fund?
We hope to announce the winner everywhere within a month of the fund completing its goal. If you’d like to support the fund simply click the ‘Fund’ button on the Direct To Artist’ project on the Subzly profile. If you’d like to nominate a band or artists you can comment / DM us anywhere or email us directly with a short reason at [email protected]
